Year 6 Football

7th December 2015

With the previous cup match having to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, the excitement levels were high for the rescheduled fixture. We set off to Winhills with our fingers crossed that the weather would be on our side, luckily it was. The game kicked off and immediately the Hemingford team took control of possession and territory, having a few good shots on target. The team worked really well together to hold onto possession and force the Winhills goalkeeper to make some good saves. Eventually, a counter attack led to a well worked goal and put us 1-0 in front. Soon after the first goal a second followed in similar fashion, a clinical counter attack proving difficult to defend. Kicking off the second half, the team continued to keep hold of the ball and defend tirelessly to keep a clean sheet, which they did brilliantly. A third goal not long from the full-time whistle sealed a fabulous victory for the Y6 football team, ensuring they will continue on their cup run. Well done to everyone involved, you all played

Next up in the Y6 cup competition is Thorndown Primary School.
